By using thoth.cards (the "site"), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the site. We may update these terms from time to time (see "Changes to These Terms" below).
These terms work alongside our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.
For questions, email terms@thoth.cards.
You must be at least 13 years old to use the site or create an account. If you're using the site on behalf of an organization, you confirm you have authority to bind that organization to these terms.
You can browse reference content without an account. To use the Readings feature or any future authenticated features, you'll need an account.
When you sign up:
You can sign in with an email and password, or via a social login provider. Each provider has its own terms; signing in through one doesn't change anything about these terms.
Use the site for personal study, personal practice, and any other purpose that's consistent with these terms. The short version: don't be a problem.
Specifically, please don't:
If we notice this kind of thing, we'll usually just remove the content or the account. We don't run a tribunal.
You own the content you create on the site: journal text, tags, and any reading data you generate.
By submitting content, you give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to host and display it. The license is scoped to the visibility setting you choose: private, members-only, or public. If you delete the content, the license ends, except for cached or indexed copies in third-party systems beyond our control.
When you make a reading public and share its link, you've published that reading. Anyone with the link can view it, screenshot it, archive it, or share it further. If you later make it private or delete it, we'll remove it from our systems. We can't remove copies that already exist outside our systems.
Treat any reading you share publicly as content you've published in a permanent way.
The reference content on the site (card descriptions, correspondences, divinatory meanings, planetary and astrological mappings, the layout, design, and source code) is our work. Tarot card imagery, when displayed on the site, remains the copyright of its respective rights holders. You can view all this content for personal study; please don't copy, redistribute, or commercially exploit our part of it.
The site presents traditional Western esoteric correspondences for the Thoth Tarot, including Hermetic Qabalah, Hebrew letters, and planetary and astrological attributions. This material is offered for study and personal practice.
The card content, including divinatory meanings and Card of the Day, is not:
Card of the Day rotates on a deterministic, date-seeded schedule across all 78 cards. It isn't personalized to you and it doesn't predict anything.
Use the site at your own discretion. Don't rely on Tarot, astrology, or any other esoteric content for decisions where qualified professional advice is appropriate.
The site is provided "as is" and "as available." We don't guarantee uptime, error-free operation, or the accuracy or currency of reference content.
We may modify, add, remove, or restrict features at any time, including the Readings feature, public sharing, social-login options, and any future paid tiers. We may take the site down for maintenance, upgrades, or any other reason.
You can delete your account at any time. See the Privacy Policy for the procedure.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms or if your activity puts the site or other users at risk. On termination, the license to your content under "Your Content" ends, except as needed for security investigations, dispute resolution, or compliance with applicable law.
We disclaim all warranties, express and implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and accuracy. The site is a personal practice tool, not a professional service.
To the maximum extent the law allows, we aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the site, including loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of goodwill.
Our total liability to you for any claim related to the site is limited to the total amount you've paid us to use the site. If you haven't paid us anything (which is the case today, since the site is free), that limit is zero.
Some jurisdictions don't allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages; the limits in this section apply to the maximum extent the law allows.
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim, damage, loss, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your use of the site, your content, or your violation of these terms.
These terms are governed by applicable United States federal and state law.
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we update the "Last Updated" date at the top. If we make material changes that affect your rights, we'll notify logged-in users through the site or by email before the changes take effect. If you keep using the site after a change, you accept the new terms.
Severability: If any part of these terms is held invalid, the rest stays in effect.
Entire agreement: These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the site.
No waiver: Our failure to enforce a provision isn't a waiver of it.
Assignment: You can't assign your rights under these terms. We can assign our rights and obligations without restriction.
For questions, concerns, or notices related to these terms, email terms@thoth.cards.
